Compound Growth Calculator
How the Compound Growth Scenario Is Calculated
The tool applies the same entered return rate once per period and adds the contribution at the selected beginning- or end-of-period timing. With end-of-period contributions, the simplified recurrence is: next balance = current balance × (1 + periodic rate) + contribution. The chart and table show this hypothetical path under a constant rate.
For example, a ,000 starting balance growing at a hypothetical 5% per period for two periods, with no contributions, becomes ,102.50 before fees or taxes. A real investment return does not arrive as a fixed, repeated rate, and losses can occur.
Scenario, not forecast
This calculator does not model volatility, withdrawals, taxes, inflation, fees, changing rates, or the risk of loss. A positive assumed return is not a promise or an expected result. Use it only to understand the arithmetic of the assumptions you choose. See our disclaimer and privacy notice.
